To recognize Interdiscplinary Programs Office (IPO) students who have demonstrated outstanding service to the university community and/or the community beyond the campus and foster students’ commitment in serving the society, IPO Outstanding Community Service Award 2019-2020 was presented to 4 students on 15 May 2020.

 

Applicants were interviewed and assessed based on the significance and long-term impact of their contributions to the community predominantly during the award year as well as their leadership and organizational abilities.

 

Awardees of IPO Outstanding Community Service Award 2019/20:

CHEUNG Ka Wan, Natalie
Year 2, Environmental Management and Technology Program (EVMT)
Natalie is passionate in saving the ocean and environment. She frequently devotes herself in events, organizations and voluntary works to raise awareness about sustainability and environmental protection.

 

HUI Chi Yuen, Melody
Year 4, Environmental Management and Technology Program (EVMT)
Melody is an active member of a uniform group. She is committed to serve and engage in multiple services and activities for the Hong Kong community within the organization.

 

LAM Sze Lok, Rachel
Year 4, Environmental Management and Technology Program (EVMT)
Rachel joined various local voluntary services in community centres and organizations to help and support children, workers and elderly.

 

SHEK Kin Long, Ronald
Year 4, Environmental Management and Technology Program (EVMT)
Ronald joined a local food donation organization to help low-income family. He is proactive to assist the operation, data analysis and reporting for the food bank.
